What is the best time to visit Devkund Waterfall Trek

The best time to visit is from late September and October to April, as the months right after monsoon remains pleasant. During this time, the visitors can experience the beauty of the falls and take better pictures.

The trek is closed from July to September due to the peak rainy season, which can be turbulent in the Western Ghats.

How to reach the starting point of the trek?

To reach Devkund waterfall, travellers have three options: by air, rail, or road.

The nearest airports are in Pune and Mumbai, with the Mangaon and Lonavala railway stations being the closest by train.

By road, travellers can rent a car or take public transport to reach the base village of Bhira. The best way to travel is by personal or hired vehicle, as the state transport buses from Pali to Bhira are infrequent.

From Bhira, there are two options to reach Pali village, which is the starting point of the trek. The recommended route from Mumbai is via Khalapur and Pali, and from Pune, it is via Tamhini Ghat and Bhira.

There are limited ATMs in the nearby town of Ibrahimpatnam, so it’s better to carry cash while trekking at Rachakonda Fort. Mobile network coverage is also limited, with Airtel and BSNL being the most reliable. It is advisable to download offline maps to avoid getting lost. In case of an emergency, the nearest hospital is the Primary Health Centre, the nearest police station is the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, and the ERSS number is 112.
